Market Integration and Economic Growth:An Empirical Research Based on Yangtze River Delta

本文在构建市场一体化指数数据库的基础上,研究了长三角地区市场一体化的经济增长效应。实证分析发现:市场一体化的增长效应依赖于区域经济的发展水平。在低经济发展水平阶段,市场非一体化带来经济增长;而在高经济发展水平阶段,市场一体化带来经济增长。这个结论有助于揭示市场(非)一体化的产生原因,并为理解我国地方政府在区域经济合作方面的行为差异提供了参考。

Based on the index of market integration,this paper studies the market integration's influence on economic growth in Yangtze River delta.The empirical finding is that the influence depends on economic development level.At a low level,market disintegration accelerates economic growth while at the high level,market integration accelerates economic growth.This finding helps reveal the cause of market integration and disintegration,and also provides reference for the understanding of distinguishable activities of regional governments towards economic cooperation.
