东晋南朝时期,佛教在中国南方的影响日益增加,名士奉佛的风气日浓。作为东晋南朝社会地位和文学影响最大的侨寓文化世族之一的陈郡谢氏,其家族经历了由天师道世家向奉佛世家转变的历程,佛教信仰绵延不绝,代有其人。他们结交名僧,参与佛教活动并撰写佛教文章,为推动佛教中国化作出了很大的贡献。他们的佛教信仰也影响了文学创作,而山水题材诗的出现对南朝文学也产生了很大的影响。

The influence of Buddhism increasingly grew Southern China during the Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties,leading to the formation of a custom that famous scholars were eager to sponsor Buddhism.The clan of Xie in Chen county,one of the sojourning clans who had the greatest influence in the literature and social status,believed in Buddhism from one generation to another,and transformed from the Tianshi Daoist to Buddhism in the process.They made friends with famous monks,took part in Buddhist activities and wrote Buddhist articles,which made great contribution to the Buddhist Chinization.Their belief had great impact on the literary creation and the appearance of landscape poems also had great effect on the literature in the Southern Dynasties.
