美国化:19世纪末20世纪初美国公民教育的重要任务 被引量:3

摘要 19世纪末20世纪初大量东、南欧的所谓的"新移民"涌入美国,对美国的社会、文化和教育产生了一系列影响,一些本土人和老移民对新移民产生了担忧和排外,促使美国化运动在全国开始盛行,对移民进行美国化教育的呼声高涨。美国公民教育顺应时代、社会和国家的要求,以提高移民素质和加强国家认同,从而维护社会的稳定为目的,采取一系列措施对新移民孩子和成人进行了美国化教育。
