中原地区在中国古代长期处于政治、经济和文化中心,中原地区自然也是"孝文化"的发源地。"孝"的观念发源于中国传统的乡土社会,它衍生的丰富内容适应并且巩固这种社会形态。要正确认识"孝"的社会来源,须回到其产生的社会环境中去。立足中原孝文化研究,挖潜中原孝文化的精髓,继承和发扬中原孝文化的合理部分,使中原孝文化为当代河南和谐社会建设提供有力的智力支持,具有重要意义。

Henan is the political, economic and cultural center of China in ancient times, so Henan is the origin place of filial culture. The concept of filiality originates from China＇s traditional village society and its rich content adapts to and strengthen this kind of socie- ty. To understand the social origin of filiality we should put it in a social context. At this turning point of rapid social change, how traditional thoughts adapt to modern society and offer a valuable lesson to harmonious society construction are a top priority before us. We should conduct a study of Henan filial culture, absorb the essence of filial culture,inherit and promote the reasonable part of it and combine the construction of a well - off society with that of a harmonious society to supply Henan harmonious society construction with intel-ligent support.
