MANAGEABILITY:THE MISSING INGREDIENT IN THE BUILDING ENERGY EFFICIENCY MIX

Many buildings do not turn out to be as energy efficient as they were designed to be.Empirical evidence shows that often this is due to energy consumption not being sufficiently manageable,and that management,not technology or equipment,was where the root of the problem lay.This paper makes the argument that this manageability needs to be built in at the very earliest stage in a building＇s conception,if anything like an optimal energy consumption profile is to be sustained over its entire life.
