《伤心咖啡馆之歌》是卡森.麦卡勒斯的重要短篇小说,被很多评论者从自我认同、小说创作心理与人物心理、孤独主题、怪诞色彩及狂欢的视角来进行研究。文章从"双性同体"这一新的理论角度出发来分析女主人公爱密利亚小姐的形象,挖掘出其爱情悲剧的深层原因。虽然爱密利亚像男人一样取得了事业上的成功,但终因性别身份的矛盾与所处时代社会不相融,她也只能算一个不完全的双性同体人,在一场三角爱情角逐中注定成为一个失败者。

The Ballad of the Sad Cafe, which is an important short story of Carson McCullers, has been studied by lots of critics from different perspectives, including self-identity, psychological theory of novel creation and characters, the theme of loneliness, grotesque colours and carnival. This paper tries to analyze the image of the female protagonist,Miss Amelia from the perspective of androgyny, which shows the underlying causes of her love love tragedy. Though Miss Amelia achieved a lot in her career like a man, she is destined to be a loser in the triangle because of the contradiction between her gender and identity and the times and the society.
