摘要
对于莎士比亚的四大悲剧之一《李尔王》,评论界从人性,人文主义,基督教人道主义等角度对其进行过解释。本文认为莎士比亚在剧中还表达了他对人类存在终极意义的哲学思考。他通过设置不同的人物性格、人物之间的矛盾对立以及不同的人物命运,以故事的形式,将他关于人类存在的终极意义在于通过对精神存在的追求从而达到最终的精神超越的哲学思考更加形象、微妙、透彻的展现给读者。
For years, critics try to decipher King Lear in terms of human nature, humanism, Christian humanitarianism etc. This paper tries to explore Shakespeare＇s thought on the ultimate meaning of human existence in King Lear. The author expounds that Shakespeare used three devices-different characteristics, conflicts between characters and different destinies of characters to express his philosophical idea that the ultimate meaning of human existence lies in the spiritual transcendence through the pursuit of spiritual existence instead of worldly existence.
