现代西方人本主义思潮学派众多,内容广泛,它的一个突出的特征是以不同的形式强调人在哲学中的地位和意义,强调人的自主性、实践性和能动性,强调在人与世界的关系中,人占主导地位,使哲学研究在不同程度上从传统抽象化的自在的自然界或绝对化的观念世界返回到人的现实生活世界。它作为影响人类行动的一种价值观,在肯定和认可人的地位、人的价值和人的尊严等多方面对人们改造世界有着很好的借鉴价值。

Modern western humanism,with many schools of thoughts and rich content,is characterized by its different means to emphasize the status and significance of human in philosophy,to emphasize the independence,practicality and motility of human,and to emphasize the leading role of human in the relationship between human being and the world. As a result,philosophical study have more or less returned from traditional,abstract and free nature or absolute idea world to realistic human world. As a value influencing human behavior,modern western humanism provides very good references for us by affirming and acknowledging the status,value,and dignity of human.
