Fospropofol disodium,a water-soluble prodrug of propofol,is a new drug used in the diagnosis and sedative therapy.Clinical studies have indicated that fospropofol disodium has favorable therapeutic effect and safety in the treatment of colonoscopy and bronchoscopy.In this paper,the pharmacological effects and the mechanism,clinical trials,drug interactions,and safety of fospropofol disodium were reviewed.
