介绍一种小波变换用于图像数据压缩的新方法，提出其基本的思路，并对医学CT图像进行了传统小波变换方法和新方法的计算机数据压缩编码实现，讨论了该算法与传统小波变换方法相比具有的优缺点．结果证明了该算法可对于医学图像数据进行有效的压缩编码．

A new method for image data compression with wavelet transform was introduced with basic principle. A medical CT image data compression and coding were realized by the new method and traditional one respectively. The relative merits of these two methods were discussed. The obtained results prove that the new method is effective in medical image data compression and coding.
