It’s generally accepted that the term 'Islamic countries' refers to those with a major Muslim population, or that have been greatly influenced by Islam in history. The article focuses on three topics: the close connection between Islam and the state, the dual impact of pan-Islam and Islamic fundamentalism, and practical interference on radical religious groups. From these the author gives a thorough analysis on the profound influence of Islam on the diplomatic policies of Islamic countries today.
