On the Impact of Internet Slang Words Introduced into College English Textbooks

互联网俚语词汇可否编入英语教材,目前尚无明确规定,但是有些教材已率先将其纳入教材搬进课堂。互联网俚语词汇目前仍属不规范语言,不宜作为教学内容编入教材用于课堂教学。网络时代大学英语教材应发挥良好的语言示范作用。

So far no official regulations have been made on whether internet slang words can be introduced into English textbooks. Yet such slang words have made their entry, as teaching contents, into some college English textbooks in China. Internet slang expressions are still considered informal, therefore it is not proper for the textbook writers to include them in the English textbooks used in colleges across China.
