国际文献交换工作是文献资源建设的有机组成部分，是我们搜集国外情报资料、丰富馆藏、了解国外动态、扩大国际合作与交流的有效途径，积极开展这项工作，对现阶段的我国图书情报工作来说尤为重要。本文结合工作实际，简述了国际交换工作的历史和现状，阐明了这项工作的地位、作用和前景，并指出了存在的问题和努力方向。

International exchange of in formation is main part of the collection construction in li-braries and one of the effective channels in collecting information and understanding developmentsabroad and strengthening the international communication and cooperation. It is more important tocarry on the work actively for libraries under the present situation. This paper, based on the practi-cal experience. narrated the history and actual status of the exchange.clarified its position, functionand future and indicated some problems and ways to be adopted.
