The researcher made an 18-month continuous study of 4 children with high-functional autism, as the experimental group, and some normal children, as the control group to observe their parent-child communicative acts under natural settings. And the results show that children with autism didn't demonstrate notable difference from normal children in terms of involvement degree of communicative acts but they did in the types of speech tendency level and speech act level, showing difficulties in maintaining or furthering a communicative situation and using high-level interactive types and generally demonstrated an unusual feature of "high generation, low interaction, superficiality".
