Age appellations in ancient China are vivid and colorful, which formed a well-structured age-addressing system with profound connotations, mainly based on The Analects of Confucius and The Book of Rite. The features of systematism are that the origins of inherent appellations of age are comparatively integrated, abiding by the se- quence of age, and first adopting titles from The Analects of Confucius and then from The Book of Rite; when people of the same age being addressed, males are prior to females. Most appellations are appropriate, thought-provoking and with broad and profound ancient cultural connotations.
