Through the detailed analysis of the masterpiece Rebecca by English female writer Daphne du Maurier, explore the construction of feminine identity diversity and female negative living conditions in the patriarchal society by the careful scrutiny of the overt nameless female narrator, covert ghost Rebecca, the villain-hero Maxim de Winter and their relationship. It holds that female metamorphosis processs from a larva to a butterfly is a gothic experience which takes duality identity construction and binary opposition gender struggle as its main events.
