摘要
语境是语言使用的实际环境,语境分言内语境和言外语境(包括情景语境和社会文化语境)。而翻译是语际之间的语义转换活动。本文从不同层面的语境分析其在翻译活动中的特定作用。
Context is an indispensable factor in language communications. Context falls into linguistic context and non - linguistic context （including context of situation and context of culture）. Translation is the meaning transfer from one language to another language. The paper discusses the role of the context in translation.
