从诗无达诂看译者的主体性——以林纾的翻译为例

On Translator's Subjectivity from the Perspective of Free Interpretation of Shi Jing——With LIN Shu's Translation Works as an Example

诗无达诂是西汉经学大师董仲舒提出的重要命题,同时也揭示了语内翻译过程中译者任意选择的主观倾向。由于语内翻译和语际翻译的本质相同,但凡语内翻译中的断章取义,语际翻译中也同样存在。中国近代翻译文学发展进程中,译者主观上对译文内容和形式的任意选择比比皆是,林纾的译著可为典型案例。然而,译者的选择应当受到原文的制约,并只能在有限的范围内作出最佳的选择,不可诗无达诂。

The view of ＂free interpretation of Shi Jing＂ is an important proposition put forward by the classics master DONG Zhong-shu in the West Han Dynasty,and reveals translator＇s subjective tendency of arbitrary choices in intralingual translation.As intralingual translation and interlingual translation are of the same nature,garbling in the former also occurs in the latter.During the development of modern Chinese literature translation,translator＇s arbitrary choices over content and form can be found everywhere and LIN Shu＇s translation works are typical of them.Nevertheless,translator＇s choices are to be restricted by the original works and are best made only in a limited range rather than a free field.
