钱锺书先生在《管锥编》中指出人的品格中存在"补偿反应",鉴赏文学作品时有"误忆增妍"的现象。关于老子《道德经》中的"无为而无不为",注者历来各抒己见。将"无为"理解为"顺自然的世界观",而将"无不为"解作"循理而举事的方法论",不但更贴近老子的学说,而且较为合理的概括了老子的思想。

New perspectives are put forwarded by stating two matter which selected from Limited Views： Essays on Ideas and Letters by QIAN Zhong-shu ＂False memory bring new enjoyment＂ and ＂compensatory response＂.Pertaining to ＂Standstill and Were all＂ which come from Dao De Jing,scholars was divided in the past period of time.Exegesis of this sentence as ＂Standstill is a worldview and Were all is a methodology＂ which is more loyal to original work,in addition,even more rational to generalize Lao Zi＇s theory.
