The Amour-propre of Rousseau and Political Identity

"自尊"是卢梭政治哲学中的一个重要概念。与自爱一样,它也是一种自然的情感。但与自爱不同,如果说自爱关注的只自己的生存,那么,自尊关涉则是他人,因为它是一种比较性的情感,具有一种与他人认同的能力。在政治共体中,我们可以利用自尊的这一认同能力,把人培养成为与政治共同体融为一体的公民。

Amour-propre is an importand concept in Rousseau＇s political philosophy.As with self-love,it is a natural emotion.But it is different from self-love,which concerns only one＇s survival,but amour-propre is concerned with others,because it is a relative emotional nature,has a capacity of identification with others.In a political socieyt,we can use this self-recognition ability to educate people to become citizens,who can be integrated with the political community.
