An improved model for the IR-mm outbursts in 3C 273, taking into account the bulk acceleration of emitting sources during the transition between the Compton and synchrotron stages, is presented to explain the detailed evolution of the rising phase of outbursts. The evolution of the outbursts in the adiabatic stage is also derived and compared with the observations at 14.5 GHz.
