Exploring the Schema of English Teaching Given by Missionary Colleges From the Perspective of the Chinese and Western Cultural Communication

中西方文明在世界上都具有重要影响,教会英语教学在中国大规模开展以前,中西方彼此之间都存在较大的隔阂和误解。教会学校英语教学图式是外国传教士在特定历史时期,结合中国国情形成的针对中国学生的教学方法、教学经验的系统知识结构,这种图式结构促进了中西方文化交流。探讨教会学校英语教学的图式对于促进当今的中西方文化交流和英语教学具有十分重要的借鉴意义。

Both Chinese and western civilization have a lull impact on the development of world＇s civilization. There is deep misunderstanding between China and western countries, before the great development of English teaching given by missionary college （ETMC） in China. ETMC is a teaehing method and experience system knowledge structure for Chinese learners which are given by foreign missionary according to Chinese situation in a particular history period. But the intercommunicatiun of the two as well as English teaching has been greatly strengthened by the development of ETMC. Through exploring the schema of ETMC, it will contribute to both the cultural intercommunication between China and the West, and English teaching.
