DNA transfection,Nuclear Run On transcription assay were utilized to investigate the transcription rate of p21,p53 gene under EGF stimulation before and after the significant inhibition of erbB 2 proto oncogene(up to 65%)by its antisense retroviral recombinants.The results showed that after erbB 2 inhibition,EGF stimulation,significantly promoted the transcription of p21(up to 120%)and p53(up to 50%)gene in nuclei from human gastric cancer cells,which demonstrates that the expressional and functional changes of erbB 2 oncogene may be involved in the induction of p21,p53 gene by EGF.
