摘要
二战后英国著名的莎剧导演彼得.布鲁克分别于1957年、1963年、1968年和1990年四次导演莎剧《暴风雨》,演出引起不同程度的反响,受到评论家的不同评价。本文通过对布鲁克不同时期导演的《暴风雨》的考察,探索不同语境下布鲁克导演方法的变化和戏剧思想的演变:从用传统方式导演《暴风雨》,到把《暴风雨》作为实验素材探索戏剧的本质和基本问题,到跨文化的《暴风雨》演出。
Peter Brook, one of the greatest British postwar Shakespearean directors, directed Shakespeare's The Tempest in 1957, 1963, 1968, and 1990 respectively, evoking different degrees of controversy and receiving different appraisal. Examining Peter Brook's The Tempest in different periods, this essay aims to explore his widely disparate approaches to Shakespeare and the evolution of his theatrical thought in different contexts: from traditional to experimental, and to intercultural theatre.
