The Evolution and Alteration of Civilization in the Periods of Five Dynasties and Ten States in the Perspective of Cultural Industry——With Handcraft Industry Concerned as the Center

五代十国时期的造纸业、印刷业、制笔业、制砚业等文化产业与前代相比有了长足的发展,主要表现在生产规模有所扩大,生产技术有了较大的提高,产品品种有所增加以及制砚业有了较大的发展等方面。由于这些行业无不例外地都与文化的发展有着直接的关系,因此在一定程度上也反映了中国古代社会文明的演进情况,并赋予了笔、墨、纸、砚这些书写工具更多的文化意蕴。

Great achievements were made in the industries of paper-making,printing,brush-making,inkstone-making and so on in the Periods of Five Dynasties and Ten States,whose main performances were embodied in scale,technology and varieties. Because these industries are closely related with culture,thus reflecting the evolution of civilization in ancient China and in the meantime endowing brush,ink,paper and inkstone with more cultural meaning.
