Pragmatic function of hedges of argumentation under the Cooperative Principle

模糊限制语是英语语言中重要的修辞手段,因而,了解模糊限制语的语用功能、学会在英语议论文写作中熟练运用模糊限制语,对于提高议论文语言的规范性和得体性具有至关重要的作用。基于格赖斯的合作原则,运用韩礼德提出的纯理功能等理论来分析议论文中模糊限制语的语用功能。

Hedge is an important English rhetoric.Therefore,knowing its pragmatic function and skillfully using it in argumentation will play key role in improving argumentation writing.Based on Grice＇s Cooperative Principle,this paper uses Halliday＇s metafunction theory to analyses pragmatic function of hedges of argumentation.
