Chinese musical instrument Guqin displays many features different from its western counterpart Piano in terms of history,structure,temperament,harmony,method of playing and function.Wonders of Chinese and Western music can be best comprehended when their representative works are compared.Results of inquiry into their cultural origin indicate that the culture of Chinese Confucianism and Taoism and that of Ancient Greek and Roman in the west have permeated the domain of arts so that Chinese national culture could be better understood,inherited and explored.
