Giulio Aleni's Missionary Activities and Influence in Putian in Late Ming Dynasty

明末艾儒略将天主教及西学传至莆田这一文化名邦,并广交莆田知名士大夫。在传教与交游过程中,艾儒略对莆田天主教信仰的兴起和发展做出开创性工作;对民间信仰的批判使得中西之间的"礼仪之争"最早在莆田呈现;其"西化"的儒学无形之中影响甚至转变了部分莆田士大夫的思想。

Giulio Aleni spreaded Catholicism and western learning to Putian which was an famous cultural area,and consorted together the scholar-bureaucrates of Putian.During the time of missionary and affiliating with people,Giulio Aleni did the pioneer work for the rise and development of Catholicism in Putian,and made the Rites Controversy firstly appeared at Putian in late Ming Dynasty because of the animadvertment with folk religion,moreover,his ＂western vesion of Confucianism＂ affected and even transformed the thought of some scholar-bureaucrates at Putian.
