Pragmatics studies languages in terms of communicative function and puts forward a set of theories,methods and principles for the proper expression of utterance meaning in speech communication.The theories of Pragmatics are very practical,which are instructive to translation practice.Context is essential to the proper expression and right understanding of the text.Theory of speech act focuses on how people act according to the speech and the communicative effect thus achieved by speech.Conversational implicature studies the actual meaning of the discourse in the context and give explanation to it.Context,theory of speech act and conversational implicature are instructive to translation practice.
