The research and development status and problems existed in the integrative and intellectual of railway survey and design in and out of China have been introduced. The basic concept, major contents and key technical points the design involved are discussed while the relative technical requirements and research methods are also mentioned. The initial conception on general structure of information system for the integrative and intellectual design are also put forward.
