Prenyl alcohol is an important organic fine chemical intermediate, which is widely applied in agricultural chemicals and synthetic perfume industry. The synthesizing methods for prenyl alcohol at home and abroad were introduced, and comparison was made among several major production processes. The applications and market prospect of prenyl alcohol were also introduced. Proposals were made on development of prenyl alcohol in China as well.
