Indeed,we have now reached a turning point for changing feminist narratologies,a point at which feminism can once again foster new approaches to the study of narrative while also expanding the significance of narrative inquiry for feminist thought."Intersectional" feminism can map and be mapped by narrative patterns across time and space, creating a narratology that is historical and cross-cultural as much as it is formal and theoretical and that,in consequence, will enable us to read(narrative) form as(gendered) content.By way of illustration,a concept of "negative plotting" will be proposed that can help us to track through one key aspect of narrative the(gendered) strategies of writers and readers across cultures and periods. The author will conclude, however,by suggesting that changing feminist narratologies will ultimately require the collaborative participation of an international community working on multidimensional fronts.
