摘要
从一个新的角度将此前被认为不相关联的一些语言现象作了一个直观同时又有着广泛认识基础的概括,从英汉两种语言结构与功能依赖程度差异的角度对英语存在定语习惯和汉语存在谓语习惯的现象原因作一些尝试性的探究,进一步印证了这种论点:英语语法倾向为相对独立的形式所驱动,汉语语法倾向把功能放在首位。
This paper offers a rather new and easily-recognized description of the phenomena,which has been considered to be irrelevant with each other.A tentative explanation to the reason why English has a preference for the use of attibutes while Chinese has one for the use of predicates is also given,based on the different degrees of reliance of form upon function between the two languages,providing further evidence for the assertion that English is more form-motivated,while Chinese is more function-driven.
