On LI Xian's Co-Rhyming in Notes of Hou Han Shu

李贤的《后汉书注》中有四十例协韵音注材料,是由于古今语音发生改变,在唐代中期这些字读来已不押韵,李氏改音以求协韵的,主要反映在两个方面:改声调以求和谐;改韵部以求和谐。其材料对于研究上古音到中古音的演变有参考价值。

On LI Xian＇ s Co-Rhyming in Notes of Hou Han Shu, there are 40 cases of co-rhyme tone injection materials. Because of ancient and modern voice change, these words people read do not rhyme in the mid-Tang Dynasty. He worked on the adoption of co-rhyme approach. The general situation is reflected mainly in two aspects： to change tone with a view to harmony; to change rhyme with a view to harmony. The study also played a certain role in the study of Shang Guyin.
