Since the 1990s, the criticism and dispute about Chi Li have been on 2 different sets of judgment criteria. The establishment of these two criteria, based on the trend of Modernism and Post-modernism in the West, has strong influence on Chinese Literature. A perspective from Modernism and Post-modernism will shed light on the dispute about Chi Li, and also on the changes in Chinese Literature since 1980s.
