讨论了在光纤网络环境下进行多媒体应用的若干问题．根据实际要求，着重讨论了在工业局域网上运行的，对工业现场进行动态实时监控的新型多媒体监控系统，这套系统包括以图像采集卡为核心的视频处理部分，实现网络传输的通信部分以及系统总控软件．

Several problems about multimedia communication on the optic fiber network environment are discussed. A new multimedia monitor & control system running on the industrial LANs is discussed in detail. This system dynamically monitors the industrial spot in real time. It includes the video process part based on image sample card, the communication part of network transfer and the system control software.
