李来章,清初河南襄城人,康熙十四年举人。为学以合天为归,克己为要,慎独为先。是当时著名的理学家和教育家。受选出任广东连山知县期间,对当地壮族、瑶族等少数民族同胞"以推诚待之",深入壮峒瑶境,招流亡,劝开垦,鼓励发展生产,减轻税赋;同时,创办连山书院,置约延师,推行教化,移风易俗,为当地民族地方的政治、经济和社会文化发展作出了积极贡献。
