论《梼杌萃编》对滥恶溢淫的规避

Evading from Sinister Carnival——An Interpretation on "A Compendium of Monsters"

《梼杌萃编》历来被埋没在故纸堆中,不受重视。近年有陈平原将其放在谴责、狭邪两类小说中讨论,王德威将其放在"梼杌"所具有的史鉴和"溢恶"两方面进行探讨,但都未对此书作整体性分析。此书继承了两大小说类型后,有意对其优缺点进行继承规避。其中,最突出的但被忽视的是此书对滥恶溢淫倾向规避的叙述。钱锡宝熟知官场,故能避免滥恶,反而在叙述中多有怜悯。钱氏对滥恶溢淫规避的表现,是将叙述由官场转向私域来探讨,一边规避,一边借以呼唤"真性情"。

＂A Compendium of Monsters＂, the novel written by Qian Xibao, fell into oblivion since published. But some scholars like Chen Pingyuan and Wang Dewei recently pointed out that this novel was a confluence of the denunciation novels and courtesan novels. Wang argued that history would be regarded as both an embodiment and an indictment of monstrosity. Qian intended to evade from the two type novels＇ trend. On the standpoint that Qian＇ s narration turned from public sphere to individual Eros to evade too much expose and depravity,and call for genu- ine temper simultaneously.
