William Blake's Songs of Innocence is often interpreted either as a eulogy or an elegy of 'innocence',while in fact what this collection of poems presents is 'innocence' of ambivalent nature.The ambivalence exists not only in the multilateral world of 'innocence' depicted by the poet,but also in the poet's contradictory attitudes towards 'innocence',which manifests an open and vigorous quality of Blake's poems.
