The pragmatic function and cultural psychology of the Japanese transitive and intransitive verbs

日语自动词与他动词的用法不仅是一个语法问题,而且还深受日本社会文化心理的影响。通过从语用功能的差异对日语自他动词进行分析,将自他动词的语用功能划分为体恤功能、道歉功能和待遇表达,并指出日本人崇尚和敬畏自然的自然观、对他人的敬畏以及崇尚"和"的心理是左右日本人使用自动词与他动词的根本原因所在。

The application of the Japanese transitive verbs and intransitive verbs is not only studied in the scope of grammar but also profoundly affected by the Japanese social and cultural psychology. This dissertation analyzes the Japanese transitive and intransitive verbs from the perspective of pragmatic function and divides the pragmatic function of them preliminarily as sympathizing function , apologizing function and treatment expression. The article also discusses the influence of the Japanese cultural psychology towards the usage of the transitive and intransitive verbs.
