电话网和数据网独立地存在了几十年,目前这两种网正逐渐合并为一个通信网,提供更为强大、更加经济的通信手段.这里介绍了Internet电话的概念及Internet电话网关的功能、分类和系统结构,Internet电话技术的国际标准,讨论了Internet电话实时传送所面临的主要问题及其解决办法,展望了Internet电话的未来.
Telephone network and data network are converging into a communication network to provide more powerful and economical communication means. This paper firstly introduces the concepts of Internet Telephony and Internet Telephony Gateway, including its functions, varieties, system structure and the correlative international standards and protocols, such as H.323 and RTP/RTCP. Then the difficulties on real-time communication of Internet Telephony and their solutions are presented. Finally, the future of Internet Telephony is prospected.
