The Spirit of Confucianism and Construction of Teachers’ Ethics in Colleges

国家间的竞争实质是人才的竞争,而人才的培养主要靠教育。一个国家经济社会能否可持续发展,关键看教育;教育能否可持续发展,关键看师德。师德的提高,不但靠师德制度的建设和完善,更要靠教师从思想源头上加强理论修养以提高对师德的认识。而儒学精神对此有启迪作用。

Countries’competition is essentially one that between talents; and training of talents depends on education. Education is the key to sustainable development of a country’s economy and society. And teachers’ethics is the key to sustainable development of education. Its enhancement relies not only on construction and perfection of the ethics system but also on teachers’strengthening their ideological awareness from the beginning to enhance their understanding of the ethics. The spirit of Confucianism is an inspiration to this.
