Two compounds were isolated from Lonicera bournei Hemsl.and identified as bis(5 formylfurfuryl)ether(Ⅸ)and 5 hydroxymethyl 2 furaldehyde.It was for the first time that the two compounds were isolated from the plants of this genus.Compound(Ⅸ) was reported to be effective constituent against tuberculous bacillus in literature.It is a new finding that compound(Ⅸ) is also an effective constituent against bacteria in this genus besides chlorogenic acid and isochlorogenic acid.
