By the analysis of the theme of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short fantasy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the spiritual depravation and degradation of American people in "The Roaring Twenties" are uncovered. All apparently beautiful things including affection, honor and dream, ultimately move to their opposite direction like the retrograde life of Benjamin Button. What stays behind these pseudo phenomena is the covered spiritual crisis and disaster of people.
