摘要
由跨国公司市场寻求型投资引发的本地化浪潮对翻译服务业的发展产生了极其深刻的影响。本地化行业急需大量具备出色的翻译技能和特定专业知识,熟练使用辅助翻译工具,具有一定翻译项目管理能力的专业人才。作为我国高校翻译教学的新生事物,翻译硕士专业学位(MTI)项目的根本目标是培养适应经济全球化及提高我国国际竞争力需要的高层次职业翻译。MTI的课程设置应首先满足本地化行业发展对翻译人才的需要,而实现这一目标的有效途径是依据翻译能力构建模型,对现有MTI课程体系进行改革和创新,以提高MTI学生的职业翻译素养和综合实践能力。
Market-seeking investments made by multinational corporations have triggered needs for localization and substantial ly influenced translation services industry. The localization industry falls short of practitioners who are equipped with translation expertise, specific knowledge in certain areas, computer-aided translation competence and project management skills. Be- ing a new education program in China' s higher education system, the Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) aims at cultivating high-quality professional translators who can contribute to economic globalization process and enhance China' s in- ternational competitiveness. For this reason, MTI curriculum should, first of all, meet the needs of the localization industry for competent professionals. An effective approach to this objective, which is found in translation competence model, appeals for reform and innovation in current MTI curriculum for developing students' strong professionalism and translation competence.
