In the era of instinct and spontaneity,the development of Chinese cities and their spatial distribution are strongly influenced by the nature,politics and economy and the scale hierarchy of Chinese cities has gradually been formed.The intelligence-conscious era,under the influence of commercial and market economy,witnesses the preponderance of big urban districts,urban agglomeration and urban belts in the spatial structure.With knowledge economy ascending to the leading position,the spatial polarization and functional specialization of cities are further enhanced.The spatial distribution of Chinese cities in the morally free era is expected to better meet the needs of human all-round development.
