The government＇s plan to build Hainan Island into an international tourism island has great influence on the development of its capital city Haikou in many aspects. The public signs,as the window of the beautiful city,have aroused great attention. This paper compares the public signs of Haikou with those in Singapore so as to find some ways to improve Haikou＇s public signs and to help to develop Haikou into an international world-famous city.
