Graham Greene's religious novels Brighton Rock, The Power and the Glory and The Heart of the Matter have helped establish his long-standing position in British literary history. " Human being's existential dilemma" constitutes a persistent theme throughout Greene's works, whose dramatic new realism. This essay claims that the existential itself in the characterization of ugly characters, in effect contributes to the development of paradox in the trilogy always embodies the author's exploration of human nature, and in his dialectical view of aesthetics.
