In this article, the author introduces the translation of Sartre＇s works in China before 1949. During this period, with the attitude of let-me-take-it-down in translation of Sartrc＇s thought, personages in China from literary circles shouldering the heavy responsibility of national salvation and enlightenment viewed Sartre as their soul mates; nonetheless, Sartre was taken to severe task for his wrong class stand at the threshold of the formation of the two Camps in the world.
