As a special professional language,teacher＇s talk deserves a linguistic study.This paper discusses the characteristics and forms of the teacher＇s talk,and analyzes its pragmatic functions under the Speech Act Theory.Finally it also points out the limit of the teacher＇s talk with the purpose of providing the useful implication to English classroom teaching.
